Sheephaven Bay Tourism Committee Launches www.sheephavenbay.com

Wednesday June 21st sees the launch of a new website serving the Sheephaven Bay region of County Donegal.

We wanted something that really showcased the range of diverse tourism activities we have in the region' said committee chairman Cormac Walsh of Carrigart Hotel. We did not want the site to be a simple brochure but rather have our tourism products, from Golf to Horse Riding, Walking and Watersports available live and online to book directly'.

'Knowing that websites can become stale very quickly we organised multiple training sessions for all the interested tourism providers in the Sheephaven Bay region. Most of the content that you see on the website, from Entertainment, Events and Special offers are entered by the local tourism providers themselves. We managed to create an 'Online Newspaper'. that we hope visitors will come back to on a regular basis, with a raft of enthusiastic reporters to keep it uptodate'.

In addition to the usual features www.sheephavenbay.com also offers such advanced features as GPS Maps that can provide potential tourists with routes right from their living room to the front door of the tourist provider, and Videos from around the area which it is hoped will eventually be populated with videos from enthusiastic amateur tourists.

'We did not want to go through this process and have to make another investment in 12 months time' said Walsh' so we asked for the site to prepare us for online marketing in 2008 and beyond. In addition to the ability to generate E Newsletters, we can also send SMS messages to visitors, and they can even view our information live on their mobile phone. We believe that this website is going to be a major asset to the Sheephaven Bay Area'.
